Who We Are
The Edmonton & District Beekeepers Association (EDBA) is a not-for-profit organization passionate about promoting awareness, education, and best practices for the wonderful honey bee (Apis mellifera).
Our 100+ members come from Edmonton and the surrounding areas including St. Albert, Sherwood Park, Spruce Grove, Nisku, Beaumont, Onoway, Alberta Beach, Hardisty, Gibbons, and Bon Accord. We warmly welcome both hobbyists starting with their first hive and experienced commercial beekeepers.
Together, we foster a supportive environment where beginners and seasoned keepers share knowledge, celebrate successes, and work toward healthier bees and stronger local ecosystems.
Our Mission
The mission of the Edmonton & District Beekeepers Association is to be a support group for beekeepers, particularly hobbyists and beginners, in the greater Edmonton area.
We achieve this by:
- Providing education on seasonal beekeeping practices, bee health, and the latest advancements
- Offering opportunities to connect with fellow enthusiasts through meetings and events
- Promoting responsible beekeeping that supports pollination and biodiversity across Alberta
- Advocating for policies that benefit both bees and beekeepers
We believe beekeeping is more than a hobby — it’s a meaningful way to connect with nature and contribute to a sustainable future.
Our Executive Board
Our dedicated volunteer Executive Board works hard to keep our association thriving. They bring a wealth of experience and passion to support our members year-round.
We’re always grateful for the time and expertise our board volunteers contribute to the beekeeping community.
